Race Updates as of 9/28/07: Please read this notice carefully, for it will help make race day go as smoothly as possible for you.

Packet Pickup is Friday, Sept. 28th (10-7PM) and Saturday, Sept. 29th (9-5PM) at Fleet Feet Sports, 2210 Monroe Ave in Brighton.  We encourage greatly that you go to packet pickup.  You can get your packet race morning, but there are 4 events occurring, so the less you have to do the better.  At packet pickup, due to USAT rules, you must bring photo ID and your USAT Card if applicable.  If you do not have these we are unable to give you your packet.  In addition, you will also be signing a waiver at packet pickup.  Again USAT rules.  Moreover, only the participant can get their packet.  Again USAT rules.

Transition Area on Race Morning opens at 7:15AM.  You must get your timing chip just outside of transition.  The timing chips will be at the entrance of transition.  Simply show your bib number and we'll hand you your chip.  No Bib, no chip - no chip, no time.  You can place your bike anywhere in transition.  It's first come first serve.  Also, please be kind and not take up two or more spaces.  Leave room for your neighbors.  You must return your timing chip or else its $90.

Since there are several races going on race morning, we will have wave starts.  The Formula 1 will go off first at 8:30AM.  Two minutes later the Trail race (both distances) will go off at 8:32AM, Two minutes after that the SuperSprint will begin at 8:34AM.

This is a course notice: Canfield Rd (the first right turn you make on the bike course) has been recently chip sealed for about 1/2 mile to the Mendon Center Rd.  This was and is completely out of our control.  However, the road is passable by bike, you just simply have to ride cautiously and wisely.  It is not long and in the beginning part of the bike legs.  If you want to see a positive side, this allows a more level playing field for those on hybrids and mountain bikes (ha ha ha) - you gotta always look at the bright side.

Registration is still available at packet pickup and race day for both the duathlon and the trail race through race day if you know anyone interested in participating.

Bike Course Map

Bike Course Description: This 10 mile all road bike course goes through the rolling hills of the picturesque countryside of Mendon.  The bike course starts out of transition in the Beach Lot of Mendon Ponds Park.  Riders exit the park via Canfield Rd onto Mendon Center Rd towards 251.  Taking a right onto Clover Rd and heading back into the backside of the park near the Nature Center via Pond Rd and entering back into the Beach Lot.  Road, Tri, Mountain and Hybrid bikes all welcome.  Helmets are a must.

Run Course Description: Due to the nature of the run being on trails we do not have a picture.  The run starts by the baseball backstop in the field between the Beach Lot and Stewart Lodge.  The run heads through the grass towards the entry way towards the Boat Launch.  Running up the boat launch then meandering through the trails on the Southside of the park before heading back towards transition again.  There’s some single track, grass, woodchip and pine trails.  The course has its challenges but is a great entry into trail running with wonderful views of the beautiful Mendon Ponds Park.

Volunteer: We are seeking volunteers for this event to do Road Marshalling, Transition Monitoring, Water Stop on the run Course, Finish Line and Sag cyclists/runner.  For your time your will receive a discount eligible for future YellowJacket Racing Events - called a Buzz Buck.  If interested contact us here.
